In Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, Rotary International is creating ripples of positive change with its transformative initiatives, and we’ve joined forces to help provide water safety, community support, and education for local children and Burmese migrants.

Empowering Koh Samui Kids Through Swim4Life
Here in the Gulf Of Thailand, surrounded by azure waves, we know how important water safety is for the kids of our islands, so we’re fully on board with Rotary Koh Samui’s Swim4Life initiative. Going beyond traditional swimming lessons, the programme gives local children and their families a comprehensive understanding of water safety practices – essential skills that will last a lifetime.

Educating Koh Phangan’s Youth At The Monastery
Rotary’s support extends beyond Koh Samui to Koh Phangan, where the organisation actively engages with the local monastery. We’re joining them to connect communities by offering education and support to both local youth and Burmese immigrants.

• Rotary and Explorar volunteers work with the monastery staff to provide:
• Educational sessions including basic literacy
• Vocational skill-building workshops
• Much-need resources

Every week we see the positive impact on the quality of life for Koh Phangan residents.

Crossing Borders: Support For Burmese Migrants
The Swim4Life and monastery projects aren’t confined by geographical boundaries; we use them to support Burmese migrants in the region. Acknowledging their unique challenges, Rotary actively engages in outreach programs, collaborating with local organisations and NGOs to create a sense of belonging and community support among those on the margins of society.
